Arrival and transfer

By plane - Batumi International Airport (located 2 km south of the city)

By train - Georgian Railways operates trains between Batumi and Tbilisi daily. The trip takes 5 hours. Free WiFi is available on the train. Find tickets at

Transfer from/to the Batumi airport/central station is provided by the organizers according to collected arrival time.

NB! The organizers will take care of airport and central station transfers in Batumi, but are not responsible for pick-up outside of the city.

Getting around

On foot
Batumi can be walked almost entirely by foot (roughly 45 minutes from one end to the other).

Bus & minibus
Batumi has a few bus routes in modern clean busses, the price is 1 lari and you can buy tickets from the driver. Minibuses pass on the larger roads frequently and stop if you wave them down. The prices range form 0.50- 0.60 tetri and is paid when you get out. The driver will usually give you change but might not always have the exact amount.
Tourist information near the main fountains has bus routes and mini bus routes, although it is easier to ask someone which bus to take.

There is a network of red painted bike paths throughout Batumi, including the 8 km Boulevard along the sea which stretches along both the beach and port side of Batumi. An automated bike sharing membership, called BatumVelo is available to rent bicycles. To get a BatumiVelo card stop at the Tourist information booth at the center of town, near the fountains (Ninoshvili str 2, Tel: +995577909091).
You can also rent bikes from bike renters along the Boulevard.

Taxi is the only public transports available for 24 hours and can be stopped at any place of the city. Make sure to negotiate the rate before the start of the journey. There might be fare differences between day and night rates. Taxis should have an official taxi signs!
